Here’s a car James Bond wishes he could own, but with only 77 of these beauts (hence the name) being produced, we’re not sure even he’s going to score one of these rapidly moving works of art -- and for a cool $1.7 million, we’re not sure M would be too pleased with the purchase anyway.
While this car has yet to hit the market for proper testing, the numbers are out and they are phenomenal. Aston Martins are always on the quick and nimble side, but this one steals the show entirely. Equipped with an all-new carbon-fiber chassis, the Aston Martin One-77 packs a 7.3-liter V12 that stampedes out 700 horsepower -- and while you might think all those sevens are significant, the CEO of Aston Martin, Dr. Ulrich Bez, said it wasn’t about the numbers, but more about the creation and the expression of the car: “[The Aston Martin One-77 is the] expression of all the beauty we could bring to a car; all the emotions we can bring in the car, and by this it is an expression of what Aston Martin stands for.”

Beauty aside (until we talk about design that is), this vehicle's exclusivity alone is sure to sky-rocket it to new supercar heights. With just 77 available, Aston Martin has immediately created a demand unlike most. As the highest-powered, most beautiful Aston on the market today, we’re sure the One-77 will be on more than 77 wish-lists.
Looking at the One-77 is like looking at a rare piece of art. Delicate in its features, its presence is immediately felt, from its savage side intakes to the low-slung stance and muscular appearance. While we could go on for ages about the beauty of the Aston Martin, we’ll instead leave it up to Mark Reichman, Aston Martin’s Director of Design: “[This] is the embodiment of Aston Martin; it is the pure Aston Martin.”

DaVinci showed us the power of the golden ratio and how beauty is defined and it’s clear that, behind closed doors at Aston Martin, someone was inspired by the famous painter. From the balance between the length and the height, the wheelbase and the tailpipes, everything is perfectly harmonious, perfectly sculpted and perfectly stunning. And what’s even more glorious about the Aston Martin One-77 is that each of the 77 models will be handmade. What this hand-tailoring allows is for the car to be unique to each owner. Reichman even elaborated on how the paddle shifters’ feel can be changed to accommodate the driver (should they want it to be heavy or light, etc.).

And Reichman was right when he said the Aston Martin One-77 is a mixture of art and engineering. It is a truly incredible machine and one that is sure to go down in the automotive history books.
