I stayed at the Halepa Hotel for two nights during a business trip in Chania, and I wish I could extend my stay.
This hotel, a gem in the city of Chania, is worth every cent. My suite itself was just beautiful; very spacious, quiet and comfortable with an unbelievable decoration.
The building is historical, and used to be an Embassy building. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with local products and I even had the opportunity to enjoy my coffee outside in the garden. Yes, it's always the sun in Crete.
The owner, the manager Kostas and the staff saw to all my needs cheerfully and efficiently. It is a hotel of real character and I highly recommend it. I am definitely going back.
Very cute, romantic, essential and clean.
Strategic location, close to the center yet away from the chaos. What more can I ask for?
Yes please..
This odd bottel of Raki or Tsikoudia is a hospitality staple in Crete, and it never fails to liften our spirits
Halepa Hotel was built in the 4th quarter of the 19th Century by a wealthy merchant and its design follows the New Classical style period. It was used during the late 1800's and the early 1900's (the era of Cretan Democracy) as the Embassy building of the British. During that time, it played a very important role in the Cretan history.
Many significant treaties have been signed in this area.
Located in a quiet neighborhood across from the sea, 5 min drive from the center of Hania. Or 20 minutes of walking and enjoying the scenery..
The breakfast, is mostly on the Cretan side, with plenty of fresh fruits and Greek yogurt with honey and nuts.
A very delightful buffet indeed.
If anything, The price is on line with this quality of hotel.
With a jacuzzi, and a built in gym, there is no excuse to avoid your fitness regime
especially after indulging in Cretan savoury foods, or those oohh so lovely sweets...
