From around the young age of 9, I remember being completely in awe of how my grandfather's face would light up as he shared every last detail about the fights he'd watch. He loved everything about sports and kickboxing and it was his intense passion that I watched for years that would eventually see me enter the sport myself.

Artemis Awakes 

I am an Armenian Lebanese civil war survivor.
I grew up in Beirut, mostly in bomb shelters.
I studied by candlelight for my High School Baccalaureate exams.
I left Beirut by boat under cover of night at age 16 to Larnaca, Cyprus, then eventually by plane to the US where I attended University and then earned a Master's degree from MIT.
